The work of the Aylmer Lagoon Optimization Project, Intermittent Sand Filter Expansion is located at the operating lagoon facility at 9853 Rogers Road, Malahide ON. 

The scope of the project generally includes the following:

1. Excavation, grading and installation of sixteen (16) new intermittent sand filter beds (ISF) at the lagoon site.
2. Supply and installation of gravity sanitary sewer and forcemain.
3. Construction of granular access road to ISF expansion location. 
4. Removal/Disposal of the existing electrical and mechanical equipment servicing the ISF’s.
5. New electrical equipment including incoming power, distribution, MCCs and appurtenances, PLC and controls for the existing and new ISF’s.
6. Supply and installation of pre-engineered fabric storage building.
7. Supply and installation of pre-cast ISF electrical/control building.
8. Two (2) new raw sewage pumps.
9. Coordination and connection of the new electrical, mechanical and pumping works.
10. Work covered by the Contract documents includes Construction of, and Commissioning of the facility as per Section 01 91 13 – Commissioning Requirements and the General Conditions, Supplemental General Conditions and the Division 01 Contract documentation requirements.

The operation of the lagoon facilities must be maintained throughout the duration of the project.
